In the still of the night.

If you want to listen to this Cole Porter classic, make sure to find a version that features the great baritone, Billy Eckstine, singing lead. Sally J. Nordan's lovely post over at the Oh Really? put me in mind of a new, non-list "challenege." Send TNA your key slow jammz! I'm always looking for new sentimental music to make my late night and weekend single malt sippin' sessions copacetic.

I could go on forever on this topic but instead will offer five key tracks in chronological order with no sense of ranking them:

Fred Astaire, "The Way You Look Tonight"
Billie Holiday, "All or Nothing At All"
The Flamingoes, "I Only Have Eyes for You"
Wire, "Outdoor Miner"
Sinead O'Connor, "Black Boys on Mopeds"

Please comment so I can have new songs like this to enjoy!
